Opening of Galería Vincent

By Robert Higgs

The show is entitled “The Divine Muse,” reflecting Nina Wisniewski’s connection to the creative process, as well as what feeds it: life lived, openness to change, and tuning into what resonates for her.

Galería Vincent
Quebrada 18

On Friday, February 5, from 6 to 9 pm, Galería Vincent at Quebrada 18 is delighted to present paintings by Nina Wisniewski, painter, teacher, and San Miguel resident since 2003.

These large format paintings use enamel paint as the vehicle and metal tools instead of brushes. Executed on the floor of her studio from all four directions, the viscosity of the paint, “…allowed me to paint in the air, seeing where it would fall onto the canvas in a gestural way,” says Nina. “I loved this! The process is both directed and spontaneous.”

You will find readable imagery as well as brilliant color and dynamic use of line and form in these paintings. We at Galería Vincent invite you to experience this very masterful series of work through February 26.

Accompanying Nina in this exhibit is internationally known sculptor Karen Wight. Karen is presenting her beautiful illuminated resin pieces and bronzes.

Gallery hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 2pm and 4 to 8pm.
