Jóvenes Adelante Names Hall, Jaffe Co-Treasurers
By Robin Loving
Jóvenes Adelante, which gives university scholarships to A-level local students who otherwise could not afford to go to university, is proud to announce the election of Tom Hall and Steve Jaffe to the board of directors as co-treasurers.
Hall has an MBA and experience with KPMG and others as senior auditor, senior tax accountant, controller, and vice president of finance.
Jaffe is a lawyer who worked in urban and regional planning, construction, real estate and banking, raising funds and investing them.
“Speaking for the board and the finance committee, we are grateful to have Steve and Tom join us in our mission to raise scholarship funds to bring entire families out of poverty,” said John Hunger, JA Vice President of Administration.
Jóvenes Adelante is entering its 15th year and is in the process of raising funds for 15 scholarships. “We had 58 qualified applicants last year but could only fund 11, so we are excited that Steve and Tom are on board to help us prove our financial stability and transparency,” said Esther Rocha, Vice President of Student Programs.
