Divided by Four, One Week Only

“Women! You can’t live with ‘em, can’t live without ‘em.” Men generally say this in an exasperated tone of voice. It’s quite true, you know, because women are special. They have special requirements. Boundaries. Issues. Oh, and do I need to mention that usually those issues have to do with their partners?

Many women have girlfriends. BFF’s (Best Friends Forever). Sometimes you hear women say, “You can always count on your girlfriends.” “Guys might go off and leave you, but your girlfriend is forever.” Most women believe in support groups … you know, that’s when women with similar problems meet regularly to support one another. Oh my yes, most women pretty much understand other women.

So what if four women, suddenly single, who don’t know one another, in fact have never heard of each other, all happen to come together under one roof (albeit a very lovely roof) to live together? What if they cannot leave for at least six months? What if that happened?

Divided by Four is a brand new comedy written and directed by Marthe Fraser. It will charm you, delight you, and make you laugh out loud. It’s got a stellar cast: Anne Campbell (Steel Magnolias), Clara Dunham, well known actress and songbird, Phoebe Greyson (who played Maria Callas in Master Class), Pamela Cordero, actress and producer of the recent Teatral here in San Miguel de Allende, and Susan Rushton (who is remembered as Shirley in Shirley Valentine). The male actors are Ken Albanese (Steel Magnolias), Dick Avery (Inherit the Wind), and BC May (The Love List). See what happens when these actors take you for a ride you won’t soon forget.

This show is one week only, six performances. It opens Wednesday, January 13, at the new San Miguel Playhouse at Independencia 82. The 125-seat theater is intimate, comfortable, easy to get to, and a stone’s throw from Centro with post-show taxi service and free, secure parking.

Tickets go on sale January 4 at Galería Ensueños, Mesones 57A, Monday-Friday, 10am-2pm. Or you can buy them at the door an hour before the performance. Tickets are 200 pesos except for the Thrifty Thursday Matinee when they are 150 pesos.

Whatever other show you may see this winter, make sure you don’t miss this one!
