New H+ Medical Laboratory Opens in Centro
By Melanie Lansing
Peace of Mind in San Miguel has good health news for residents in San Miguel! H+ Hospital (formerly Tec 100) has opened a full-service medical laboratory on Calle Codo 32, right next to the Coppel Store (off Ancha de San Antonio). The purpose of the lab is to facilitate convenient, cost-effective access to lab testing services for customers who live in Centro.
Lab H+ provides 3,500 types of specialized screenings, including but not limited to basic urine and blood tests, gynecological exams, infectious disease testing, genetic testing, GI pathogen screens (stool samples for parasite detection) and sexually transmitted disease screens.
Lab H+ is open Monday-Saturday, 7am-2:30pm. No appointment is necessary. A physician’s order is not necessary, but it is recommended so results can be emailed to a physician for review. Written and electronic results are also provided to customers.
Specimens are collected and sent daily to the H+ Hospital Lab for processing. Testing services are designed to provide patients with the most accurate and diagnostically meaningful results.
Lab H+ employs strict internal and external quality control programs that are incorporated into all of Lab H+ services.
Most test results are available the same day if customers come in before 11:30am for testing. Samples that require more complex processing can take longer.
Lab H+ is serviced by Sandra Ledesma, who is both a certified phlebotomist (specialist in drawing blood samples) and a Chemical Lab Technician (specialist in collecting, processing, and reading specimen samples).
For information in English on test requirements, processes, or pricing, please call Brenda Gisela at 152 5900, extension 3024. The direct line for the H+ Lab on Calle Codo is 152 0961.
Beginning in January 2016, Lab H+ will be offering a 20 percent discount on services on Tuesday and Thursday.
