It’s New Year’s Eve!

The year is ending, and along with its departure, 365 new possibilities arrive.

There are many rituals and superstitions for this eve. However, all converge in one: enjoy yourself! For this occasion, we present you with a compilation of parties, dinners, and other celebrations to welcome 2016 with a blast.

Traditional holiday and countdown in the Jardín

Get on your dancing shoes! The music starts around 9pm on a stage erected at the foot of the Parroquia with various local artists and activities, from the children’s choir of Mexiquito, blues and jazz with Lady Zen, pop opera with Gaby Perales, pop classics from Maria, and more. Approaching midnight the countdown starts, followed by fireworks, cheers, hugs, and sparkling lights. Free access.

Music at La Galería

There are five courses on the tapas menu, a full bar, a glass of champagne, and grapes at midnight for revelers here. The live band starts at 10pm and plays until 1am. Thereafter Johnny Favourite plays the piano for those who are still standing. Plaza Alhondiga. Reservations at 154 4288.

Glow Party in Rosewood

The Restaurant

The menu says it all: mini shrimp roll with salmon on brioche; salmon sashimi with ginger, roasted scallops with pumpkin; roasted breast of duck with cauliflower and spices; filet mignon with roasted potatoes and kale; buttered toast and vanilla almond cake with crème brûlé and fruit compote. La Posadita

New Year’s Eve menu: rosemary shrimp soup, prime rib, sandwich cookies, punch, and coffee, sparkling wine, grapes. Live music. 1,200 pesos.

Lolita

New Year’s Eve menu: timbale avocado and shrimp salad, creamed corn, salmon with pesto, chocolate mousse, 12 grapes, and coffee. Live music by the Manix group. 980 pesos. 185 8009. Salida a Celaya.

Hecho en Mexico

Menu: poblano cream soup, chicken stuffed with spinach, crème brûlé. 6:30-7pm and 9-10pm. 750 pesos. Ancha de San Antonio 8. 154 6383.

 

Vivali

Menu: fried squid, cream of asparagus, fennel salad, tiramisu, glass of wine.
