Natalia Lafourcade Concert

Jesús Aguado and Tania Noriz

By Jade Arroyo

Mexican artist Natalia Lafourcade recently appeared in San Miguel de Allende after winning five Latin Grammy awards in the categories of recording, song, alternative music album, alternative song recording, and recording engineering.

It was her first live performance here, where she presented her latest production Hasta la Raíz, an album that combines sounds like huapango, pop, and Mexican bolero.

Since launching, the singles from this album have been well received by the public, which is showing a strong empathy for the issues that have already earned the Mexican singer and songwriter a place in the hearts of her fans.

A large group of attendees filled the room, singing along to “Nunca es suficiente” and “Estoy lista.” This was an energetic audience that sang along to almost every theme throughout the night. However, just when the faint chords of “Para qué sufrir” sounded, a respectful silence took over.

The concert took place at the Catar festival at the Toyán wine ranch. This festival celebrates the best of the Mexican wine and Mexican artists.
