Non-Duality with Ravi Nathwani

By David Johanssen

Everything is made of one non-dual consciousness. This oneness points to the idea that the universe and all its multiplicity are ultimately expressions of one essential reality. Sound intriguing? On Tuesday, November 10 at 4 pm, Ravi Nathwani will host a “non-dualism” series at Shelter Theater. This series of videos and discussions will explore the perspectives of non-duality and how it can help you live creatively and practically in an apparently dualistic world. A deeper understanding of non-duality may help in increasing levels of peacefulness while reducing the causes of suffering. Come and learn about universal consciousness and the true fabric of reality. The non-dualism series with Nathwani will be held Tuesdays, November 10, 17, and 24 at 4pm. Cost is 70 pesos.

On Wednesday, November 11 and Wednesday, November 18, Shelter Theater will present a live concert, “Tzigane and Friends.” In 2008, Almitri Tzigane began his sound odyssey by searching for the deepest origins of rock music. He went backward in music history, listening and reading, back to the early 1900s in New Orleans, an era that won his attention with its incredibly rich mix of gypsy jazz, blues, ragtime, and bossa nova. Also on stage with Tzigane, Israel Chávez will play violin and percussion, bringing the same strength, dedication, and joyful sound. Be sure to experience Tzigane’s elaborate and elegant musical tapestry. Tickets are available at La  Biblioteca and online at www.sheltervg4.com. Cost is 120 pesos.

Shelter Theater is part of the Shelter VG4 Cultural Center, located at Vicente Guerrero 4, a 10-minute walk from the Jardin down Insurgentes. Telephone 154 7524 or visit sheltervg4.com to see upcoming events. Taxi service is available. Shelter VG4’s theater and class/performance space are available for rent. We welcome proposals for activities and events!
