“Viajes” Photography Exhibition

By Siobhan Byrne

The images in this exhibition of limited edition archival prints, aptly entitled “Viajes,” were captured here in Mexico, the USA, Europe, and far away places such as Vietnam and the Galapagos. Like all Feldon’s photos, these reflect her love of color, affinity for light and form, and strong minimalist sensibility. Whether her lens is pointed at nature, people, or things, the resultant photographs are always as striking as they are captivating. This eclectic collection, which runs the gamut in size, presentation, price, and theme, will be at Provecho for a month.

Many in San Miguel know Feldon’s stunning work from her recent exhibition, “Reflejos” at Bellas. Or you may be familiar with her work via her “Flowers and Faces” exhibition at Casa de la Cuesta; the walls of Galeria Foto/Graphic on Reloj; the pages of the Mask Museum’s collector’s edition, “The Other Face of Mexico,” or the Arts in Centro exhibit. But whether you’re already acquainted with her work or not, you’re in for a big treat this Sunday. Feldon will be presenting some terrific new work, along with some of the most popular images from her flower series.

Provecho invites all art lovers to this opening. It´s the perfect opportunity to see some new work, enjoy a chat with Feldon, a longtime San Miguel resident (and one of the authors of the ever-popular “Gringo Haiku” among other best-selling books), and to enjoy a glass of wine and some of Joanna’s always delectable botanas.

Leah Feldon’s Fine Art Photography Exhibition will open at Provecho, Café del Arte, Ancha de San Antonio 10A on Sunday, Oct 25, from 4-6pm.
