Listening Beyond Identity

By Robin Loving Rowland

Paul de Haas says, “I know I’ve made a difference if I have helped people discover or rediscover their ability to design their lives and futures.” Redesigning our futures is what many of us in San Miguel are all about, so we expect that many will enjoy de Haas’ presentation on “Listening Beyond Identity.” His presentation will be at Hotel Misión, Salida a Querétaro 1, at 12:30pm on November 3. It will be in English and is free.

What would you say are the two core principles of communication? What are we listening to? Is there another way of listening? What are the sources of action? What do you need in your personal leadership manual? De Haas, who has 40 years of experience in training people for personal and organizational effectiveness, will answer these and other questions.

The focus of his work has been to help people design their lives, manage their time, and transform their relationship to money and prosperity. In fact, De Haas is the co-author of The Prosperity Handbook—Winning the Money Game, and the author of Relax, You Are Going to Die. He asserts that the single most useful principle is that each and every person wants to be heard, and very few people are listening.

De Haas has led engagements for more than 100,000 people worldwide. He has worked with clients in the areas of teambuilding and co-creation, cross-functional communication, strategic design and implementation, breakthrough project design, conflict resolution, leadership development, and executive coaching. De Haas also has trained internal consultants. He is committed to “diminishing the separateness and duality we experience as individuals—in relationships, as groups, communities, religions, countries, ethnic origins, and political parties.”

As a business consultant, De Haas offers strategic design workshops, leadership development courses, coaching programs, custom-designed consulting engagements, individual executive coaching, program design, in-house consultant training, and account management.

Rotary unites neighbors, community leaders, and global citizens for the common good. For more information, contact President David McGinnis at davidsmcginnis3@gmail.com. To contact De Haas, email pfhmdehaas@aol.com.
