Carmen Gutiérrez studied French literature at SMU in Dallas, Texas. She then went on to study philosophy at the Sorbonne in Paris and later studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. This colorful background has given Carmen’s work the spiritual angle and decorative appeal that characterizes it. Carmen has had numerous individual and group shows in Mexico and the United States in venues such as the Museum of Modern Art Beaux Arts in Dallas, Galería el Nueve in Mexico City, and Museo Diego Rivera in Guanajuato. The collection that will be exhibited consists of a dozen medium-sized oil paintings with intricate details in gold and silver leaf that provide depth and unique lighting. The recurrent theme is meditative contemplation and the innocence and beauty found in the animal kingdom.
The gallery is located in Recreo 48, 415 152 0885.
