Annual General Membership Meeting and Election of Officers
By Kathleen Devine
It is that time of the year when Mujeres en Cambio, AC will hold its all-important Annual General Membership Meeting and bi-annual election of officers. Come join us in the community room of St. Paul’s Church on Saturday, October 10, from 1-3pm. Not only will you learn about our 20-year history, our past successes and plans for the coming year, but you will meet all the current and new officers and hardworking standing committee chairs, hear their reports and plans, all while munching on complementary pizza and drinks!
Additionally, we will be showing you a short powerful filmed interview of four of our university graduates who describe how the Mujeres en Cambio scholarship program helped them achieve their goals and change their lives. This is what we are all about: empowerment of young rural women in the environs of San Miguel de Allende through the gift of education.
I have had the honor of serving as president for the past four years, but it is time to hand over the reins to a new president and new set of officers, as dictated by our bylaws. Our nominating committee has selected a talented group of people to take Mujeres en Cambio forward into the next two years of service to the community of San Miguel. The new group of officers will take over on January 1, 2016.
This meeting is open to all members and supporters and to all those of you who are interested in learning more about what we do and getting involved! For more information, check our website: www.mujeresencambio.org
