A Perfect DayA Cleanse Day
A Perfect Day
By Karen Ocampo
To be in harmony with our being, from time to time it is advisable to spend a full day of cleansing. And by this we don’t mean to take a broom and mop, but to cleanse the mind, body, and spirit. For this, you can do the following:
Begin with a temazcal, recognized for many therapeutic benefits both physical and psychological. Different than a sauna it has high temperatures, lower humidity, and purification ceremony included. Today we know that temazcales have positive effects on the circulatory, digestive, and nervous systems and can also clean the skin. Here in San Miguel, you can have a temezcal experience at Charco del Ingenio. The next one will be on Sunday, September 13 and Sunday 27, at 10am. Before entering the temazcal, consult the El Charco del Ingenio staff regarding precautions and recommendations.
After the first cleaning session, continue the day with a warm, tasty tea at Nectar. This is a place where it is possible to choose from a variety of recommended teas and infusions to drink and enjoy while contemplating the natural surroundings and the quiet life of San Miguel.
Now, make an appointment with Azenet Macedo, who offers Mayan massages and meditation sessions at LifePath. Mayan healing is a deep therapeutic massage with natural essential oils. It is a synchronized work with the Mayan calendar “for the healing of the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual body. It opens energy doors in the 13 major joints … it helps us to connect with the energy of the day, and the cosmos and earth vibration,” as Azenet explains.
Later, you can go to Natura, the health food store. Stock up with organic, vegetarian, or vegan products. From the kitchen you can choose light and healthy food as well as products that help people who are diabetic, have celiac disease, or are pregnant.
Finish your day at home. Then find your favorite place, take your favorite position, be still, and rest.
