San Miguel’s official wine club, Vinophilia of San Miguel, knows how to taste-test wine in style, and to prove it, hosted a Spanish wine tasting at the newest gourmet destination in town, Zumo restaurant. Eighty attendees packed the rooftop terrace, with panoramic, eagle’s-eye views, to taste everything Spanish from Tempranillo to Txacoli, Riojas to Ruedas.

Zumo owners, interior designer and enchantress Vanessa Villegas and restaurateur Stewart Haverlack, brought Paris-born Chef Gabriel Ferrant out for a round of applause after he debuted a tantalizing 14-bocadito tasting menu that included salmon gravlax with chamomile and tequila-artichoke cream cheese, bocolitos papantecos with beef tinga and plantains in a tamarind glaze, and buñuelos with fresh tuna tartare and avocado pearls with Dijon-mustard glaze.
