A Bright Day

By Sandra Ríos

To begin your day with an adventure through the skies, we suggest a balloon ride. Depending on the height the balloon reaches, you can see the Parroquia from just overhead, or reach above the clouds and observe a calm and peaceful landscape. When you descend you will also see the Picacho mountains and the Presa Allende which is really full after heavy rains.

Later, take breakfast in a lovely relaxed atmosphere at Camino Silvestre’s Nectar Tea House. This open air restaurant is surrounded by beautiful plants. To start, try the chilaquiles Nectar style with sesame and red sauce infused with a touch of Italian orange tea with cream of walnuts, onion, and avocado, served with beans and a cup of Earl Grey tea.

After that, maybe pay a visit to the San Miguel de Allende craft market. There you will find jewelry, handicrafts, clothing, flowers, and even tasty home cooking. This market covers three or four blocks on foot and is interconnected for the convenience of walkers.

At night if you want to go out, we suggest you visit Luna Rooftop Tapas Bar in the Hotel Rosewood. This terrace has one of the most spectacular views of the city. Ask for the special tapas of the day and try them with a delicious cocktail while you appreciate the sunset colors ranging from ocher to bright red and up to a pale pink, contrasting with the background of blue sky.
