Bazaar of Art and Alternative Design
By Jade Arroyo
The 10th edition of the Bazaar of Alternative Design will bring to San Miguel more than 40 independent Mexican brands, displaying the best of emerging design in a variety of products such as fashion wear, footwear, furniture, lighting, fabric, jewelry, art objects, photography, illustration, painting, textile art, binding, and many others. If you didn’t make it to our last bazaar—because you were too busy watching films at the Guanajuato International Film Festival—this is your chance to see and purchase the coolest products. Don’t miss it this weekend, August 8 and 9. Free entrance. Pet friendly.
Bazaar of Alternative Design
Sat, Aug 8, and Sun, Aug 9, 10am-6pm
Centro Cultural Allende
Ancha de San Antonio 28
Transcending a mere shopping experience, the bazaar features fun and free activities, such as fashion shows, and bands and DJs playing live music. And you can have a delicious homemade meal in the gourmet area.
Since 2013 the Bazaar of Alternative Design has been an itinerant space in our city, open for art and independent design. This project was created with the aim of providing a space for the creative effervescence happening in Mexico.
For the past two years we’ve been fortunate to collaborate with freelance illustrators and graphic artists like Machuca, Mariana Lescano, Myrna Camacho, Fabián Fuentes, Antonio Ruiz, and Karen Ocampo.
