The Wine Harvest Arrives

These Bajío lands will again celebrate their wine production with the grape harvest. This year Guanajuato, Comonfort, San Miguel de Allende, and Dolores Hidalgo will participate. As for the viticulture of the region, Vinícola Toyan, Viñedo San Miguel, La Santísima Trinidad, and Cuna de Tierra will be present.
Vinícola Toyan will kick off its third vintage on August 8 starting at 4pm. During the celebration they will offer organic food, Mexican dishes, paellas, guided tours of the cellar, and tasting wines, such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon Ensemble 2011 vintage white wine or harvest 2012. In addition to enjoying Sauvignon Blanc vineyard views, visitors can participate in the traditional stomping of the grapes, live music, and a gala concert by the singer “La Rumorosa.” Gourmet products and handicrafts are also available for purchase. The ticket price is 1,200 pesos.

The next party will be Aug. 22 at Santísima Trinidad where, for the third time, this property development will greet visitors to give them an experience of luxury and excellence. The event will start at 1pm, and the wine cellar will be open at approximately 2pm. At 3pm, people can taste salads, paella, and kebabs, as well as specialties prepared by the house chef with organic garden products. Barrels will be set up for wine tasting, and wine experts will be present to give tours of the vineyards. The event will be spiced by live tango music, an equestrian high school show and three polo matches with players from Guadalajara, Monterrey, and equipment from Santísima Trinidad, among others. The ticket price is 1,200 pesos adult and 400 pesos children. Tickets can be purchased at Cafe Rama or at the premises on the day of the event.

Finlly, on August 29, Cuna de Tierra, will host its 5th grape harvest with an extense program of exhibits and activities. Chefs Susana and Eduardo Palazuelos, will presenta menu with a selection of ceviches, salads, BBQ, pasta, seafood, Mexican antojitos and dessert.
