Anado McLauchlin (The Maker) is a multi-disciplinary assemblage artist and the creator of the Chapel of Jimmy Ray Gallery. Anado will be displaying his provocative and reverently irreverent assemblages that have evolved over the years. His work has obvious roots in the Spoken Word Movement, which grew out of a downtown cadre of renegade poets and artists during the early 1970s in New York City. His pieces include found objects, paint, collage, mosaic, and the bejeweled wonder of all that glitters and glows. Each piece embodies a non-linear story line that engages in a personable, inviting manner.
Spencer Tunick (The Magician) can magically gather 18,000 nude participants to gather at sunrise to make art and go on an urban adventure with him. The work Spencer has chosen are individual nudes of his female friends that he has become close to during his five summers in Mexico. It is a tribute to the amazing women living in San Miguel Allende who have contributed and enriched the lives of the artist. Mr. Tunick’s work is shown globally and this is his third exhibition at the Chapel of Jimmy Ray Gallery.
Kristin Bowler (The Muse) is the wife and muse of artist Spencer Tunick. Her paintings highlight the power of feminine inspiration. Kristin will be exhibiting paintings that depict women of mystery and power. They are colorful, playful, freewheeling kaleidoscopes of inspiration. In this series Kristin creates a mysterious dream world inhabited by an imaginary tribe of wild blue beings whose purpose is to inspire, enlighten, and energize action through creative expression.
The Chapel of Jimmy Ray Gallery is part of a two-and-half-acre art compound created by Anado McLauchlin and his crew of artisans over the past 14 years. The compound has enjoyed a large amount of impressive media attention worldwide. Be prepared to bask in the glow of surprise. The Chapel of Jimmy Ray Gallery mirrors a contagious mirth in a special visionary manner.
