Love is the theme of three of the pieces. Claire, by Nicky Silver, is a meditation about family love (and the lack of it), and, unexpectedly, it´s also about the delights of physical love. First Love shows what happens when a very successful divorced woman is surprised by an unexpected visit from her ex-husband.
Jules Feiffer wrote The Unexpurgated Memoirs of Bernard Mergendeiler (a play not much longer than its title). In it a man and a woman who have met at a party and have gone to her apartment afterward wrestle with the age-old problem of natural instincts versus morality—with touching and comic results.
Each of the plays is surprising, imaginative, fresh, and most of all, funny. The actors are Britt Zaist and BC May, both in multiple roles, and Lola Smith, in her triumphal return to the stage. Henry Vermillion directs, and Yaya Silva handles light and sound. Space at the venue is limited, and the doors open at 7pm. Admission is 20 pesos. The plays begin at 7:30pm, or sooner if the house is full before then.
