The Charm of San Miguel Revealed in Architectural Tour
By Betse Davies
Jay Moskowitz will be leading the downtown architectural tour, which he originated, on Thursday, July 16, at 10am. Both tourists and residents will enjoy this tour. As they walk along the streets they see the same impressive old buildings as did the people of many past generations. Nothing changes except, of course, the uses of the buildings. Jay provides the opportunity to get to know them better.

From the Jardín
This fascinating tour spans more than three centuries, and you will be introduced to many architectural styles: baroque, neo-classical, Spanish mission, and Mexican modern. Information on how the times impacted the architectural styles will be provided, for example, the transitions from one style to another in a single façade.
The tour leaves from the Jardín across the street from the Parroquia. It lasts approximately two and a half hours and is mostly level walking. No reservations required. Your 250 pesos donation all goes to support the work of Patronato Pro Niños, the organization that provides medical and dental care for the needy children of the city of San Miguel and the large rural area surrounding it.
