Rainy Days

By Sandra Ríos

During this rainy season, it is a pleasure to enjoy the coolness. This is a good time to have breakfast at Rancho Toyan, where you can to smell the wet earth and see the surrounding trees.

In the restaurant there is a full buffet menu with a choice of various stews, fruits, juices, and delicious organic coffee to wake you up. Most of the products used to make the meal are produced at the ranch. After your breakfast, you can ask for a tour of the vineyards and the magnificent wine cellar.

On your return we suggest a visit to the unique Museum of the Mask, where you can spend a long time appreciating true gems of different cultures and ethnicities. Each of these masks is original. Call in advance so that a guide can share some of the history, culture, and Mexican anthropology with you.

Later, you can eat downtown. We recommend Café Santa Ana, where there is an extensive international menu. Ask for the special of the day and accompany it with delicious tea or coffee. When you end your meal, you can visit the Biblioteca (library), located in the same building of the cafeteria. There is a wealth of books in both English and Spanish. You can have a great time reading, and you can take a look at the colorful mural of Mexican history.
