Nonprofit Resource Network Celebrates Six Months of Success
By Robin Loving Rowland
The Nonprofit Resource Network commenced its free community service linking and informing local community service organizations, benefactors, consultants, and volunteers in January, and is pleased to announce that the community has found the service useful.
More than 1,000 people receive our email newsletter, Network News, each month, which features news about community service organizations, benefactors, consultants, and volunteers. Many people are using our informative website, NonprofitSMA.Net, which is produced in English and Spanish.
The most popular areas of our website are the list of nonprofits, the news page, the calendar, and the benefactor pages. And there have been 1,600 unique users in our first six months. That’s an average of 267 unique users a month. The most popular items in our newsletter have been foundation listings, events, and volunteer requests.
We were sending our newsletter out in both languages, but we lost our translator. That said, only a handful of Spanish speakers were accessing the Spanish newsletter, which we will reinstate if a volunteer comes forward to translate it monthly.
We have queried the community about its training needs, but none have responded. However, we believe that a board fair where potential board members could visit with community service organizations about volunteer opportunities might be useful. Let us hear from you about this. And, let us know if you would like to advertise on our site.
For more information, or to publicize news about your community service organization, benefactor opportunities, consulting abilities, and/or volunteer needs, see NonprofitSMA.Net. Alternatively, you can contact me at email@example.com, or my partners, Denise Galipeau at firstname.lastname@example.org or Mariana Salas at email@example.com. I answer US and general inquiries, whereas Denise answers Canadian, administration and communication inquiries, and Mariana answers legal and Mexican inquiries.
Thanks for all you are doing to improve our community through your work with community service organizations!
