Dating Service with a Twist, or Be Careful What You Wish For
By Marthe Fraser
San Miguel Playreaders offers up a real treat this coming week as they present Norm Foster’s The Love List.
This is a fast-paced comedy about Bill, a 50-something statistician and his best friend Leon, who wants to help Bill find the perfect partner. So he gives him a membership to a dating service called “Got a Match,” run by an old gypsy woman. Together they sit down to fill out the Got a Match Love List, and from there, hilarity ensues.
Bill, the anything-but-boring Michael Gottlieb, plays the boring statistician. His best friend Leon, the womanizing novelist, is played by the legendary BC May. Justine, lovely Pamela Cordero, plays the mystery woman. Dic Simandl, back from the beach, is our unparalleled lights and sound tech. Marthe Fraser, who not so secretly adores Norm Foster, is directing.
Come join us Wednesday, June 24, and Thursday, June 25, at St. Paul’s Parish Hall, Cardo 6. Tickets will be sold at the door at 6:45pm each evening on a first come, first served basis. All ticket holders must be present when the doors open at 7pm or their seat may be resold. The play will begin at 7:30pm or when the house is filled.
It’s the best bargain in town at only 20 pesos, and we love it if you bring the correct change.
