River cruising opens a new way of seeing a country, as rivers were the original highways of the world. Passengers cruise through the heart of historic towns and villages and dock in the city centers. They can experience the sights of the city, sit in a café leisurely sipping wine, and then amble back to the ship to go to bed.

Global itineraries encompass everywhere from Europe to the Yangtze River, from Russia to the Pacific Northwest and Mississippi paddle wheelers, and from Myanmar to Botswana, Egypt, and the Amazon.

River cruising includes lots of things that big cruise ships don’t, such as walking tours in every city and biking along river paths. It’s not for the person who wants round-the-clock entertainment; it’s all about being immersed in the destination. And seeing it in a comfortable way, which means unpacking only one time, choosing from a variety of gourmet meals and complimentary regional wines, and eliminating the hassle of airports, train stations, and checking in and out of hotels.

Theme cruises are gaining in popularity such as Christmas market cruises, wine cruises, Civil War history cruises, culinary cruises, Jewish heritage cruises, and tulip season cruises. Join us to learn more about this intimate and relaxing way to explore the rivers of the world.
