Sweetness and Love: SPA’s June 2015 Pets of the Month
From the SPA
By Lynn Weisberg and Joan DiPiero
Two of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet are Mitzy and her daughter, Bailey, both small/medium-sized, mixed breed dogs with calm and loving dispositions. When they arrived, Bailey had a neck wound from being tied up with wire, and Mitzy had medical issues, too. Both are now fully recovered and have maintained their trusting temperaments. They are a devoted pair and love to wrestle and chase each other, but are equally content to curl up together or with a human friend. Mitzy, about five years old and Bailey, a bit more than a year old, are doing extremely well in a basic obedience class we are now conducting. We want these two to be adopted together, and whoever takes them will be rewarded with love and companionship for years to come.
Rescued together from the street, Alicia and Ariana really love each other. They are inseparable, playing with each other and then napping with legs entwined. About one year old and probably sisters, they both have tabby, orange, and white markings, expressive eyes, and sweet dispositions. They respond well to human touch, even letting us pet their tummies. We want these girls to be adopted together and they will give you a double dose of love.
We can’t talk about Clyde without breaking into big grins. He’s the poster child for “the best cat in the world.” No exaggeration, he is a perfect, loving, sweet, mellow, playful, and extremely handsome cat. This pale orange two-year-old boy is a big galoot of a cat who, despite his size, is a little timid around the adult cats. He prefers to spend his time with the babies, who gather around him, accepting him as their substitute daddy. Such a gentle soul with them; he might not be aware of the size difference, so we are very careful to keep him away from mirrors.
Adopt (400 pesos) any of these Pets of the Month during June and receive a free adoption kit. Preview all our available animals at www.spasanmiguel.org (Adopt Me! pages) and meet them at Los Pinos 7, 152 6124, Monday-Saturday between 11am and 2pm. The adoption fee includes sterilization, vaccinations, and deworming.
The Pet Food Money Bank fundraiser is gaining momentum! All donations apply 100 percent toward the annual cost of feeding our 100 resident animals. No tickets to buy; you don’t have to get dressed up. This is our big “event” for the year so please support this program. Details here: www.spasanmiguel.org/how-you-can-help/pet-food-money-bank. We would appreciate it if you spread the word and encourage your animal-loving friends to donate!
