The Walking Tour Gives Everyone an Opportunity to Learn

By Jerry Davis

“Every time, I learn something new and interesting,” one member of my tour said. This was her sixth Historical Walking Tour of San Miguel, as every time she has a guest, the first priority is to treat them to a tour of our unique city. Because every volunteer guide has their own special interests and enthusiasms, and as every guide is constantly acquiring more knowledge of our fascinating history, customs, architecture and fiestas, each tour experience is fresh and informative.

Walking Tour
To benefit Patronato Pro Niños
Mon, Tue, Fri, 10am
In front of La Parroquia
150 pesos

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10am, when the clock strikes the hour, the tour leaves the jardín (park) in front of the Parroquia (our principal church). A 150 pesos donation supports the Patronato Pro Niños, an organization that ensures that every child with medical problems in the municipality is identified and treated. Outreach is accomplished with three mobile dental clinics that not only clean teeth but teach oral hygiene and look for children who need medical treatment.

A wonderful orientation for newcomers, the two and a half hour, mostly flat, walking tour gives everyone an opportunity to learn, to ask questions about particular interests, and to discover many tales and legends of our historic town.
