Magic Town Music Festival is back for the second annual weekend of concerts, bringing country, folk, rock, soul, and blues music across the border to the beautiful Spanish colonial town of San Miguel de Allende. Red Young and Silvie Rider-Young, Stephanie Urbina Jones, Maylee Thomas Band, Rick Shlosser, ZuZu Men, Oh Whitney, Etta Britt and Bob Britt, and Johnny Starbuck as Master of Ceremonies, will all return for this year’s festivities. Joining the lineup this year, MTMF welcomes Teresa James and the Rhythm Tramps, Karen Hart, Jim Scarborough, Pila Seca, and Dave Sebree, all donating their talents for a great cause, Casa de los Ángeles, a local organization that benefits working mothers and their children here in San Miguel de Allende.
To purchase tickets online go to MagicTownMusic.org. Tickets will be available for purchase in-person at select venues in San Miguel de Allende or at the venue on Festival days. Check the website for ticket locations.
Magic Town Music Festival kicks off festivities with a VIP Party on Friday, March 13, where guests will mingle with the festival musicians while enjoying delicacies from local restaurants and an open bar. Live performances from our musicians throughout the night will keep the party rocking and the dance floor alive. Many surprises are in the works. The price is US$100 per person and limited to 100 guests.
The two-day festival will be held on the newly renovated grounds of Centro Cultural Allende inside the Instituto Allende. MTMF is thrilled to be hosted by this amazing venue, which has been donated to help with the goal to raise as much money as possible for children who are cared for at Casa de los Ángeles.
This event is designed to raise much-needed funds for the Center, founded in 2000 as a safe haven for single moms, serving the San Miguel de Allende community’s poorest children. Casa de los Ángeles is currently providing medical services, food, emergency shelter, temporary housing, and educational grants to more than 80 poor families and 100 toddlers in the San Miguel community. The success of the center lies in the palpable passion of its founder, Donna Quathamer, and the dedicated people drawn by Donna’s deep, abiding love for every family, mother, child, volunteer, and donor. Casa de los Ángeles owes its continued existence and success to the support of a committed community; to date, over 1,800 volunteers from 34 countries have supported the organization in numerous ways.
In the spirit of community, the families are required to participate in the life of the daycare center by giving one hour of service for each day their child is present. To date, the Casa de los Ángeles has hosted approximately 1,500 children, from infants to four years of age, feeding their bodies and minds and making sure there is a smile on every precious face.
Magic Town Music Festival is a community collaboration with an all-volunteer organizing committee both in Mexico and in the US. Even more impressive are our world-class performers who are donating their time and talents. The festival brings a unique, music lineup to San Miguel de Allende and a quality and diversity of music “never before heard” in this part of the world.
