UU Service

The Rev. Heather Janules addresses the gift of caring companionship at this Sunday’s Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Service. When people we care about are experiencing transition, illness, or loss, so often we struggle with “what to say.” Those in need of community compassion often just need the intentional, non-anxious presence of another to move out of isolation and pain. This service will invite us to reflect on the nature of presence, giving and receiving the gift of caring companionship. Rev. Janules serves as the Minister for Congregational Life and Social Justice at Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church in Bethesda, Maryland. Some highlights from her shared ministry with the congregation include regular rebuilding trips to New Orleans, LA; pilgrimages to Cedar Lane’s partner church in Dicsöszentmárton, Transylvania; and creation of an annual Blessing of the Animals service. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago, IL and was ordained by the historic Arlington Street Church in Boston, MA.  The UU Fellowship meets every Sunday at 10:30am at La Posada de la Aldea, Ancha de San Antonio 15, and welcomes people of all ages, races, religions, sexual orientation, and gender identity. Visitors are invited to attend the service and then join the UUs for coffee and snacks afterwards. The room is wheelchair accessible. For more information, visit our website at
