Mixed Media Collage by Jacque Parsley
By Alene Carter
Jacque Parsley, part-time resident of San Miguel de Allende, presents her fourth exhibit at Galería Atenea. Her mixed media collages include the flotsam and jetsam of everyday life, reflecting partly told tales with a past that has been reinterpreted. Jacque states, “Collage to me is like a visual daydream. It is serious play. You delve into your subconscious, and you let your intuition take over, and when you come out of the zone, you make rational corrections.”

Jean Buffet said it best, “Art does not lie down on the bed that is made for it; it runs away as soon as one says its name; it loves to be incognito. Its best moments are when it forgets what it is called.”
Jacque Parsley has a BFA from the Louisville School of Art, an MA from the University of Louisville, and an MFA from the University of Kentucky.
Parsley’s work is in the International Museum of Collage and Assemblage, Pagosa Springs, Colorado; Art Sparks J.B.
