Weekend of Jewelry Extravaganza with Arthur Koby
By Diana Friedeberg
Galería Casa Diana will host a weekend jewelry extravaganza featuring renowned jeweler Arthur Koby. The event will begin with a cocktail on Friday, February 6 from 5 to 8pm and will continue on Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 6pm. Koby will be present during these times. He first rose to fame more than 30 years ago, when his work caught the eye of design luminary Geoffrey Beene, whom he worked with for 10 years. Koby’s creations have been worn by Barbara Walters, Gloria Vanderbilt, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. In 1999, one of his designs was featured in the cover of TIME magazine. On several occasions, Koby’s jewelry has been incorporated in Donna Karan and Oscar de la Renta fashion shows. Koby is known for necklaces that draw inspiration from architecture and sculpture, bringing together unique and surprising materials as a three-dimensional collage. His work also reflects his extensive travels by combining antique figurines and household knick knacks, along with more traditional components such as shells, metals, and precious stones.
