Understanding How the Enneagram Can Improve Your Wellbeing

By Robin Loving Rowland

Even the healthiest among us finds life challenging at times. Why did they do that, we sometimes wonder, even when we know people well. One tool that therapists, business, counselors, and human resource directors around the world find useful for self-understanding and personal growth is the Enneagram. The Enneagram is a framework for helping people understand themselves and everyone they deal with.

The Enneagram helps people recognize and understand an overall pattern in human behavior. The Enneagram shows that external behaviors, underlying attitudes, one’s sense of self, conscious and unconscious motivations, emotional reactions, defense mechanisms, what we pay attention to, our spiritual potentials, and more are parts of a complex pattern that forms each personality type.

Allen Zeesman, is a lifetime student of the boundaries of spirituality, philosophy, and psychology. Join him at Rotary Tuesday, February 3, at 12:30pm at Hotel Misión, Salida a Queretaro 1, when he explains the Enneagram. The program will be free.

Zeesman’s professional career spans the development of computer systems, public policy, research, and management. He is in the process of certification as an Enneagram teacher. He teaches introductory courses and facilitates ongoing discussion groups at Lifepath here.

Rotary is a group of neighbors, community leaders, and global citizens who unite for the common good. For more information, contact President Tony Ronci at roncitony@gmail.com.
