Aeromexico’s fifth daily flight Houston/Mexico City
Aeromexico’s new flight on the route Houston/Mexico City started last December 19, totaling its direct flights to five daily between these major destinations. The flight is operated with 99-seat Embraer 190 aircraft allowing customers to go and return the same day.
National Geographic unveils global hotel collection
National Geographic has launched Unique Lodges of the World, a group of hotels geared toward showcasing authenticity in design and sustainable tourism practices, in conjunction with the company’s new Private Expeditions product. The 24 founding hotels include Fogo Island Inn in Canada, Mashpi Lodge in Ecuador and The Ranch at Rock Creek in Montana.
Tanzania, Mozambique among 2015’s emerging hotspots
Conventional safari destinations in Africa are giving way to lesser-known destinations, tour operators say. Tanzania’s rising high-end safari camps have made it an attractive option for affluent travelers going into 2015, while Zimbabwe and Zambia are overtaking Botswana as more budget-friendly safari destinations. Mozambique enhances the safari experience with its beach scene and unique African-Portuguese culture.

Crystal accepting reservations for 2017 sailings
Crystal Cruises has unveiled its 2017 itineraries and opened bookings for the cruises two years in advance ‒ a first for the cruise line. Crystal’s 2017 schedule includes 32 first-time port calls and first-time voyages to destinations including Doha, Qatar; and New Guinea.
Qantas retains title as World’s Safest Airline
Well, year over year, the Dustin Hoffman character in ‘RainMan’ continues to be right – Qantas Airways really is the world’s safest airline.
AirlineRatings.com announced its annual top ten safest airlines and top ten safest low cost airlines for 2015 and Qantas was again at the top of the list. The Australian-based carrier has never had a fatality in the history of the jet era.
AirlineRatings.com’s rating system takes into account a variety of factors related to audits from aviation’s governing bodies and lead associations as well as government audits and the airlines’ fatality records. Its editorial team also examined airlines’ operational histories, incident records and operational excellence to arrive at its top ten safest airlines.
