An entertaining day

By Sandra Ríos

To start your day with an excellent breakfast, we suggest Geek & Coffee, a place with a casual atmosphere that has two seating areas, one inside with a beautiful view to a small pond with ducks, and another outdoors with a large green area where pets are permitted. For breakfast we suggest a quiche with ham and gruyere cheese or a cheddar cheese bagel. You’ll find great Italian coffee and different flavors of fresh water with ginger and orange or strawberry with mint each day.

Calzada de la Aurora, Fabrica La Aurora. Entrance for parking. 152 3554

Since you are a few steps from Fábrica la Aurora, you can walk the halls and visit the art galleries with their exhibitions of painting, sculpture, art objects, and photography. You will also find antique and interior design shops. Some artists who have galleries here give classes in drawing and painting, if you want to take a class or just talk with the artist and learn more about his work, this is the place.

Calzada de la Aurora s/n. Open 10 am-6pm. 154 9828

After your walk in arty surroundings, we suggest returning to Centro and eating something tasty. Mama Mia restaurant and terrace has an incredible view of the Parroquia (main church). One of its specialties is pizza; we suggest the seafood pizza with a beer or a good white wine.

Umarán 8, Centro. 152 2063

When you finish, if you want to listen to good live music, we suggest you go to La Noche Piano Bar, order a drink, and listen to the group of musicians playing songs ranging from Frank Sinatra to Tony Bennett and sung by an excellent singer. This is a place enjoyed by locals and tourists.

Mesones 101, Centro. 149 0678
