The Downtown Never Changes, Architectural Tour

By Betse Davies

My son visited San Miguel seven years ago and happily he made a return trip this holiday season. I asked him if he’d seen any changes in the town. “Lots of them,” he replied, “but the downtown never changes.” And it hasn’t for 200 hundred years. Anything that has lasted that many years deserves some investigation. That’s why Patronato Pro Ninos offers you comprehensive tours of downtown San Miguel. Jay Moskowitz will be your expert guide on two Thursdays this month, January 15 and 22.

Meet in the Jardin across the street from the Parroquia
Betse Davies, 152-2380

Jay will meet up with you in the Jardin across the street from the Parroquia at 10am and take you around the downtown area for about 2 ½ hours while explaining the for different styles of architecture which have developed over the last 400 years. All of your donation of 200 pesos goes to Patronato Pro Ninos, an organization which has been giving medical and dental care for the needy children of San Miguel and the surrounding rural area for the last 40 years. We are particularly proud of the addition of a third dental van to our program. This shortens the time in-between visits to the outlying villages. The Architectural Tour donations helped make this happen!
