New Art by Natalie Hinshaw Bartholet Shows at Lily’z
By Elsmarie Norby
You are invited to enjoy the recent beautiful, whimsical paintings by Natalie Hinshaw Bartholet. Her own words inform us best: “My images reflect my love of nature and architecture, and using space, textures, shapes and color to bring it all to life — especially color, which reflects my great love for Mexico. Lately, I’ve been painting the moon, feeling intuitive, playful, and happy. The works in this show are the manifestation of Natalie´s vision and person and will give you a truly delightful visual jolt!

Lily’z Sabor a México Restaurante
A long-time resident of San Miguel, Bartholet has been an active painter and student of painting for most of her adult life. In the early ‘80s she studied with Margaret Dawitt and Nacho Maldonado. For the past eight years she had divided her time between San Miguel and Connecticut, studying with Pam Gordinier at Lords Hill Studios in Stonington. Her teacher in San Miguel has been Maestro Ernesto de la Peña Folch, first in Bellas Artes and now in his school in Fracc. La Luz.
Lily’z Sabor a México Restaurante is another pleasure, offering a beautiful, comfortable ambience with delicious traditional Mexican and pre-Hispanic dishes from several regions of Mexico.
Ojalá Niños, the non-profit alternative education program in Rancho de San Miguel Viejo will receive a percentage of the proceeds from sales of Bartholet´s art. Bartholet has been a great supporter of this program since its beginning in 2008. It now offers free daily classes in arts, literacy, music, health, environmental studies and issues of social justice to over 100 children, and planning for a long-term sustainable future for many more children in rural Mexican communities. Join us for Natalie’s Color Journey exhibit at Lily’z from the opening on Jan. 7 until Feb. 7, 2015.
