The Three Wise Men Are Coming!

By Jesús Aguado
Mexican children cannot wait for the arrival of the Reyes Magos on January 6. San Miguel is no exception. This festival is a tradition that the municipal DIF (Family Integral Development Department) recreates annually for the children, complete with a parade that features live music, candies, and lots of toys.
On Tuesday, January 6, at 6pm, Melchior, Casper, and Balthazar—on horseback—will start their travels at the corner of Insurgentes and San Antonio Abad. The three kings will parade through Insurgentes, Pepe Llanos, Juárez, San Francisco, and the Plaza Principal. On their way to the Jardín Principal, they will receive letters from the children and distribute lots of candy. At the Jardín Principal, there will be a special program, and at the end, Karla Ramírez, president of the Municipal DIF, and Mayor Mauricio Trejo will give toys and candies to the attendees.
