Governmental Offices Remain Open During the Holiday Period

In December, governmental offices will remain open. The Public Relations Department of the local administration stated that the offices will be open throughout the holidays but with reduced hours. From December 22 through January 2, 2015, government offices will be open between 9am and 2pm. The offices will be closed on December 24 and January 1, 2015. They will return to a regular schedule on January 4, 2015. Emergency services (Traffic, Public Security, Civic Protection, and the Alcohol Monitoring departments) will work as normal (24 hours).
The Human Resources Department of the SAPASMA (System of Potable Water and Drainage) announced that the schedule in those offices will not change, but they will work half-time on December 24 and 31, from 8:30am to 12pm, and will close on December 25 and January 1, 2015.
There will always be someone available 24 hours for emergencies; the numbers are 152 4611 and 152 4429, extension 111.
The Ministerio Público will not close and will maintain a regular schedule from 9am to 5pm in order to keep serving the population. As always, after 5pm there will be agents who will help users file their criminal complaints, and the bilingual agency will work as normal.
The state tax office, situated at Plaza Real del Conde, will work under a regular schedule from 8:30am to 4pm, except December 24 and 31, when they will work half-time. The office will close on December 25 and January 1.
