Centro Offers a Feast of Food and Activities

By Sandra Ríos

San Miguel de Allende has a wide range places for dining and entertainment. Just a few steps from La Parroquia, you will find the well-known shop La Ventana coffee, whose owner always greets you with a big smile. Here you will find delicious organic coffee from Chiapas. For a nice breakfast, enjoy a mocha cappuccino accompanied by delicious molletes. Sollano 11, 154 7728.

Later, cross the esplanade of La Parroquia and walk a bit to calle Jesús on the left, where you will find the shop Bicentenario Todo Terreno on the left. Here you can rent an ATV and freely explore the city and the countryside. You can also ask for a tour to Atotonilco and get to know a bit more about the history of this historic area and the natural beauty of its landscapes. Jesús 4, 152 7342.

Upon your return, right on calle Jesús you can enjoy the best seafood at El Pescau. We recommend you to ask for the bocaditos de camarón marinado (marinated shrimp wrapped in delicious Asian pasta with sweet and sour sauce) for starters. For a main dish, shrimp toast or salmon would be a good choice for lunch, accompanied with a beer. Jesús 21, 152 8800.

At the end of the day, head for La Azotea, a contemporary, minimalist bar with great music for dancing. Among their unusual, outstanding botanas (appetizers or snacks) are jícama tacos with breaded shrimp. They go well with a glass of white wine. Umarán 6, Centro. 152 8265.
