By Janice Page
Lions are off on a three-day trip to Cuernavaca and Taxco on November 19, 20, and 21. Included is one night in Cuernavaca in a fabulous hotel, Hostería Las Quintas. There will be a stop at the pyramid of Xochicalco, one of the most important archeological sites in Mexico, on the way to Taxco. In Taxco, where we will stay at the Agua Escondida, there will be great silver shopping, including Arca de Noé for discounted silver, and BYOB cocktail parties both nights. There is an optional trip to Cacahuamilpa caverns and we stop at Metepec for the trees of life on the way home.
The cost, including a donation to Lions, breakfasts, first-class bus, hotels, tips and taxes is 2,250 pesos each, double occupancy (about US$180), single is 3,250 pesos (about US$255). Be sure to make a reservation by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or at 152-0934; or Janice at 152-5541, email@example.com. Money will be collected on Tuesday, November 11, at Actinver Bank on San Francisco, between 10am-12 noon. Prices are based on a minimum of 35 participants.
