This comedy-drama depicts the impact on women during the war and has been a big audience pleaser since it was first produced by Alberta Theater projects in the late ‘70s. Canada was of course in the war from 1939 and the play takes us through to 1945 ending with cries of “We made it. We survived.” The camaraderie, conflicts, laughter and tears shared by these courageous women will remind us all of the sacrifices made by everyone during those tumultuous years.

The Playreaders performance will feature Phoebe Greyson, Kate Rowland, Clara Dunham and Gerri Baruch. Lights and sound by Dic Samndl. The play will be directed by Ken Albanese who was recently seen in the San Miguel Theater Company’s production of Moonlight and Magnolias.

The production is Wednesday, November 5, and Thursday, November 6, at St. Paul’s Parish Hall, Calzada de Cardo 6. Tickets will be sold at the door at 6:45 each evening on a first come, first served basis. All ticket holders must be present at 7pm or their seat may be resold. The play will begin at 7:30 or when the house is filled.
