The Cervantino International Festival in Guanajuato has programmed a series of events for Shakespeare 450, including presentations by internationally acclaimed British lecturer, director, and producer Giles Ramsay. The Anglo Mexican Foundation has generously sponsored  Ramsay’s visit to San Miguel de Allende to provide a one-day short course, “Shakespeare’s World: Spies, Poets and a War Against Terror,” as a benefit for Fringe San Miguel Performing Arts Festival.

Giles Ramsay is course leader in theater at The Victoria and Albert Museum in London and a Fellow of St. Chad’s College, Durham University. He regularly lectures on the Queen Mary 2 as it sails from New York to the UK. Giles combines academic analysis with hands-on experience to bring a unique insight to the world of the theater. Since 2004 he has worked with The Anglo-Mexican Foundation as a producer of MexArt, which showcases the best theater and dance from Mexico.

The inaugural Fringe San Miguel Performing Arts Festival was held in October 2013 and brought over 80 Mexican and international artists to the city for 28 shows in 12 different venues. Fringe San Miguel is committed to showcasing bold artistic talent, celebrating diversity and creativity, and inspiring a thrilling connection between performer and audience. The second Fringe San Miguel will be held February 20-28, 2015.

Please join us on Tuesday, October 14 at the Miguel Malo auditorium in Bellas Artes for this special event and support Latin America’s only bilingual fringe festival!
