An entertaining day

By Sandra Ríos

A delicious breakfast in a cozy atmosphere with beautiful gardens awaits you at the Posada Corazón restaurant. Among its tasty organic menu items, we recommend huevos rancheros or, for something sweet, try the hot cakes. Accompany your breakfast with juice and coffee. Posada Corazon also boasts a small library, mostly comprised of art, to peruse.

Aldama 9 Centro. Tel. 152 0182

For an afternoon of shopping and art appreciation, Fabrica La Aurora is the ideal place. You’ll be able to walk through shops of designer items, high-level Mexican crafts, antiques, and art galleries along its corridors.

You can also meet artists and even take classes with some of them. And if you want to give yourself a break, we recommend the outdoor cafe.

Calzada de la Aurora, Colonia Aurora. 10am-6pm. Tel. 152 1312.

Later, we suggest dining at the La Puertecita restaurant, a place surrounded by nature. If you prefer more intimacy, there is a comfortable interior space, too. We advise you to order the trucha al limón (Trout with lemon) that comes with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Accompany it with Sauvignon Blanc wine. And ask for the famous dessert, panna cotta—mango or pear. The restauarant has a large selection of Chilean wines, Spanish wines, and a soft Mexican wine from Baja California.

Santo Domingo 75, Centro. Sun-Thu. 8am-5pm. Fri and Sat. 8am-10pm.

Tel. 152 2275

To end your day, enjoy a beer or a cocktail at La Azotea, perfect place for watching the sunset or spending the evening with friends and great music.

Umarán 6, Centro. Tel. 152 8265
