What to Do in San Miguel

Among many interesting activities In San Miguel, are the cultural and traditional festivities for San Miguel Arcángel, mainly during September and October. Here are some options for your enjoyment during these days.

September 26,

10pm, concert “El Pelon del zikrophone,” born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, and adopted by people as the first voice of tribal music in the USA and Mexico.

Teatro del Pueblo at the local fair. Entrance 15 pesos.

September 27

5pm, presentation of “Allison,” a Mexican pop-punk group, nominated in 2013 for the Latin Grammys, for the best rock song. Teatro del Pueblo at the local fair. Entrance 15 pesos.

September 28

10pm, “Los Invasores de Nuevo León” concert. The group has a wide repertoire of music:  cumbias, rancheras, corridos, and northern. Teatro del Pueblo at the local fair. Entrance 15 pesos.

Midnight, traditional mañanitas for San Miguel Arcángel by Hermanos Godinez at La Parroquia

September 29

7:30pm, Harp and guitar concert by Sergio Basurto. Flamenco music performed on guitar and folklore harp. Sala Quetzal at La Biblioteca. Relox 50 A. Cost: 150 pesos.

October 1

10 pm, music concert “Los Acosta” group of Mexican popular music. At La Feria del Teatro del Pueblo. Entry 15 pesos.

October 2

7:30 pm, Concert Harp and Guitar by Sergio Basurto. Specializing in flamenco music with his virtuosity on guitar and folklore harp. Sala Quetzal at Biblioteca Pública. Relox 50 A. Cost: 150 pesos.

8pm, traditional international violin concert by Hermanos Aguascalientes, La Parroquia.

October 3

9pm, popular verbena (fiesta with music and dance) to await the traditional alborada in colonias and traditional neighborhoods of San Miguel.

10pm, Edith Márquez concert by the singer and composer of boleros. At La Feria del Teatro del Pueblo. Entry 15 pesos.
