Inauguration of Biblioteca Pública Mural

By Sandra Ríos

On Friday, September 12, the graffiti workshop—opened as a means of using graffiti in a productive and artistic manner—presented a mural done by students on one of the walls of the Biblioteca Pública. During this workshop, students learned to develop sketches and use stencils, aerosol, and mixed technique in their creations. Twelve students between 11 and 25 participated in making the mural, whose theme is “Knowledge as universal power.” Teacher Francisco Vega gave the students  recognition and thanked the sponsors who allowed this workshop to be possible. This mural will stay on the wall of La Biblioteca for three months, and then the wall will be available for work by local or outsider artists. It is also expected that this workshop will continue for the artistic development of young sanmiguelenses, providing them a space to shape their artistic concerns.
