This Mexican Independence Day, explore our interdependence with nature when Alison Bastien speaks at the Rotary Club of San Miguel de Allende—Midday. Bastien will explore some of the organizing principles of how life knows how to live and how it does so, through us and all around us, without us realizing it.

In Bastien’s brief but richly illustrated talk, she will cover how we know what we know, and the many wise teachings plants are sharing with us without our knowledge. In addition, Bastien will share how her work with plant medicine and women in childbirth have reframed her concept of knowledge, helping her to connect to the broader concepts of quantum physics and the human spirit.

This presentation will be an expansion of Bastien’s presentation last winter at TEDx, a conference of “ideas worth spreading” that occurs in San Miguel annually to elevate local ideas to the global stage through affiliations with more than 130 countries.

Bastien has a degree in anthropology and is a certified professional midwife. For the past 25 years, she has taught midwives, childbirth preparation, and herbal/plant medicine classes, as well consulting privately. Bastien and her family founded La Victoriana in San Miguel 20 years ago, where they prepare plant medicine and sell gifts. This Tuesday, September 16, at 12:30pm, don’t miss it.
