Birds of a Feather…

By Gregory Gunter

Here in San Miguel, we’re all birds of a feather, flocking together, and the Audubon Society understands that concept all too well. Their gala fundraiser, honoring Linda Whynman, gathered many peacocks for a social strut around the Matilda Gardens, despite the rain. Attendees to CalacArte’s auction at the Instituto Allende did the same. Great top hat, Charlie, dressing, as well, the painted Catrinas.

Something to sing about? Yes there was, when opera voice coach Joseph McClain hosted a surprising roster of operatic voices (Realtor Chris Sanchez stole the aria) as a fundraiser for the Camino de la Paz walkway, whose sister organization sharing the same name hosted an informational kick-off at Lolita’s in preparation for World Peace Day on September 21. And Siobhan and Joanna’s Provecho toasted the night to wall-planting artist Jerry Rossing. Here’s to a sublime September, as the boys would say!
