Ojalá Niños Presents David Garza in Concert in San Miguel Viejo
By Elsmarie Norby
Come and enjoy a delightful afternoon in the beautiful community of San Miguel Viejo, with music by David Garza in front of the historic church, built in 1542. These concerts have become a favorite destination for visitors to experience another face of San Miguel de Allende … life in rural Mexico. The concert is free of charge, but visitors are invited to make a donation to the educational programs provided daily to the local children: arts, music, literacy, health, and environmental awareness.
To benefit Ojalá Niños
Starring David Garza
Sun, Aug 31, 3pm
San Miguel Viejo
Free bus across from St. Paul’s Church
Bus returns at 5pm
All donations will be matched, and a portion will go to the maintenance of the local church.
This time there will also be an exhibition of art by local adults who are masters of sculpturing in wood and stone, as well as art by the children. There will be refreshments and socializing after the concert.
Free round-trip bus transportation is available on Cardo (across from St. Paul’s Church) at 2:15pm. By car, go to the train station west of town, over the tracks and straight onto the cobblestone road. In about half a mile there is a left fork. Take that and follow the signs to the church. If you take a bus or taxi to the Bodega Aurrera, it’s a pleasant walk from there, about 40 minutes. Dress comfortably and be aware there are no bathrooms.
We look forward to meeting you in our village on Sunday, August 31, at 3pm. You can see more about us at our website:
