Mexgitanos, Jazz Manouche/Gypsy Jazz

By YaYa Silva

Jazz Manouche, also known as Gypsy Jazz, is a musical genre born in Europe. The golden era of this style was between the years of 1930 and 1950. Django Reinhardt is considered the creator of this genre; he, of course, is also considered the best guitar player of this style of music.

The guitar players Almitri Tzigane and Al d’ Yolanda decided to blend their passion for this style of music. Both have individual paths in the music world, and they have come together to unify their talents with a genuine and dynamic work. Mexgitanos have created a symbiosis between themselves and the public in each of their presentations. On this occasion, they will play music from their new CD, Mexgitanos en directo, which was recorded in July this year. This series of summer concerts will open with the presentation of this live CD at the Shelter Theater.

Concert, Mexgitanos, Jazz Manouche/Gypsy Jazz, Friday, August 15, 7pm, Shelter Theater, Vicente Guerrero, Col. San Rafael, 120 pesos.
