Art Exhibition Café Santa Ana
By Sandra Ríos
Café Santa Ana at La Biblioteca presents an exhibition of 25 works of painting, printmaking, and photography done by a group of students, alumni, and faculty of the School of Bellas Artes of Queretaro. This is relationship was developed through José Luis Mendoza, manager of Teatro Santa Ana, and Vicente López Velarde, director of the School of Bellas Artes, in conjunction with Judith Guerrero, who is in charge of the activities of the Bachelor of Visual Arts program at the Faculty of Bellas Artes of the Autonomous University of Querétaro. As well as being a faculty member, she is also responsible for the dissemination of the artistic work to other cultural institutions. “The bond that is being made with La Biblioteca has been really great,” said López Velarde. “Mendoza loves what he does, and he is in love with the Faculty of Bellas Artes. We also are in love with La Biblioteca and of course with San Miguel. There are already proposals to do book presentations, concerts, dance, and theater with La Biblioteca. Our commitment is not just to educate, but to encourage the dissemination of the arts.” For her part, Guerrero says, “The Faculty of Bellas Artes is open to what San Miguel wants to carry out; we have two theaters and an alternative room to generate exchanges.” The art exhibition is at Café Santa Ana, Relox 50 A, Centro.
