Summer Course at La Biblioteca

By Sandra Ríos

Currently La Biblioteca has an extensive and varied program of activities for children and teenagers, like the computer classes that have been a success, during weekdays, in both the morning as the evening. Origami is also one of the most successful workshops, with a sellout. If a few more children would like to join, they may do it; they just have to bring some color papers to work with. Another workshop is modeling in plasticine, where children develop their creativity.

Chess classes are offered on weekdays from noon to 1:30 pm, with still some places for children who want to learn this art from the beginning.   The idea is to make a tournament with participants on the closing date.

Regarding reading promotion, there are five workshops in the morning and five more in the evening for children between seven and 12 with great success.

On 16 August, the closing of the summer courses will take place at La Biblioteca from 11am to 1pm where the children’s final works will be exhibited.

All these activities are free; La Biblioteca Pública is contributing with all the materials. If you want to support with pencils, papers, plasticine, go to the administrative offices. If some children did not have the opportunity to join the summer courses, they can do it for September new courses.
