Despite the many hours we spend working, work is often not the source of great fulfillment or meaning we’d like it to be. We will look at qualities that can turn the situation around, including mindfulness, compassion, resilience, integrity, and open awareness, and learn practices to help cultivate each of them as we explore a path to real happiness at work. The retreat is designed for both new and experienced meditators.
Sharon Salzberg is a New York Times Best selling author and influential teacher of Buddhist meditation practices in the West. In 1976, she established, together with Joseph Goldstein and Jack Kornfield, the Insight Meditation Society (IMS) in Barre, Massachusetts, which now ranks as one of the most prominent and active meditation centers in the Western world. She is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post, was a contributing editor of Oprah’s O Magazine for several years, and has appeared in several publications including Time, Yoga Journal, msnbc.com, Tricycle, Body & Soul, Self, Buddhadharma, and many others.
There will be an opportunity for discussion following the video.
Presentations of the center are offered without charge. Donations are gratefully accepted.
